Proprietor, Michael Caine, RYA/ISA Yachtmaster Instructor, is our school principal. Our pupil-to-teacher ratio is max. 5 to 1, ensuring individual attention on all our courses, from Competent Crew, to Yachtmaster Offshore. Located on the East coast of Ireland, Carlingford Sailing School is just over an hour's drive from Dublin and has been providing sail training for over ten years.
Our all-in formula is unbeatable; combining tuition fees, excellent food (Michael is an award-winning chef), and comfortable accommodation on board our 36 foot Elan yachts.

ISA / RYA Certified Courses
- Competent Crew - 5 day, stay aboard
- Day Skipper - 5 day, stay aboard
- Yachtmaster Coastal - 5 day, stay aboard
- Yachtmaster Offshore (preparation) - 5 day, stay aboard
Note: With a Day Skipper certificate, it's possible to apply for the ICC
( International Certificate of Competence ) certificate.
The sailing season begins on the first week in April and ends on the last week in October.
Carlingford Sailing School is an Irish Sailing Association approved Training Centre and a Royal Yachting Association approved Training Centre.
We are currently the only Sailing School to hold a P5 licence from the Irish Marine Survey Office and conform to the most stringent levels of safety.
